Our good friend Patrick Whelan, better known as Shore Shot, is a seasoned hip-hop artist and an incredibly talented force hailing from the Jersey Shore. While wrapping up his album Field Day a collaborative project with his longtime bandmate E Wald Shore Shot stopped by our studio to share an exclusive preview of his key tracks. The power of his music sparked immediate inspiration, leading to conversations about the visuals. With Field Day marking the final collaboration with E Wald and symbolizing the end of an era, it was clear this project deserved something extraordinary.
Inspired by the golden age of ’90s hip-hop and the nostalgia of purchasing physical music, Shore Shot wanted to bring that feeling back. Together, we designed a custom CD package that included an album jacket, sleeve, and a lyric booklet—just like back in the day. To make the release even more special, we added a limited-edition poster, creating a collector’s piece worthy of the album’s legacy.
While Tim worked on the packaging and marketing, Jay took the lead on the video set production for Shore Shot’s single, “The Captain.” Shot in our studio, the set seamlessly tied together all three creative elements of this collaboration. It began with a striking mural representing “The Captain of the Ship,” a visual metaphor for mastering your own fate. Jay further added to the set by creating a lyrical wall, hand-painted in a bold graffiti style that captured the song’s energy.
To bring the vision to life, we were fortunate to collaborate with our friend Jimmy Giambrone, one of the top hip-hop videographers in the game today. With a résumé that includes work with award-winning artists like Asher Roth and Freeway, as well as legendary underground names like Sean Price, Vinny Paz, and AOTP, Jimmy’s expertise elevated the entire production. Working alongside such an incredible team was inspiring, and we’re proud to have been part of this amazing project. Check it out!
